On Thursday 3 October at 8pm Classic fM featured the whole of The Bach Choir’s recent concert in St Paul’s Cathedral as its Full Works concert.
Following music by Arvo Pärt and Vaughan Williams, the second half of the concert was devoted to the world premiere of the remarkable Blitz Requiem by David Goode and Francis Warner. “The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The Bach Choir cannot be faulted” writes Nichola Daunton of The Upcoming (read the full review). And from Classical Source: “It’s always a great pleasure to be reminded of the quality of The Bach Choir – you take aspects such as immediacy and ensemble for granted, but this superbly flexible chorus still surprises with variety of tone, subtlety of phrasing and adaptability of style” (read the full review).
The broadcast is available until 10 October; to listen, just visit the Classic fM website.
