Outreach - The Young Singers
The Young Singers
Formed in 2013 in partnership with the Tri-Borough Music Hub, The Young Singers is an auditioned choir for children aged 8 -12 living or attending school in the Tri-Borough area. Many of its members are children who have previously participated in The Bach Choir Outreach Programme.
Now consisting of around 100 gifted and talented children, The Young Singers enjoy an exciting and varied programme of performances in high-profile venues around London. Highlights to date include the world premiere of Jonathan Dove’s Psalms for Leo, and performances of Berlioz’s Te Deum and Orff’s Carmina Burana alongside The Bach Choir at the Royal Festival Hall, and singing in the Music For Youth Primary Proms in the Royal Albert Hall. The Young Singers are featured on a recording of Chilcott’s The Angry Planet with The Bach Choir and the London Youth Chamber Choir, which was also broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
